This activity was very exciting for the students and me. During this internship, I was only teaching English and Mathematics. This lesson gave me a new way to integrate science and hands on learning into the English curriculum. I was able to touch upon the professional competencies one to seven, through communication, adaptation and planification. This lesson required careful planning as there where different steps involved.
I had the opportunity to plan, organise and develop this lesson with objectives in mind for my students. I created this lesson to be adaptable and welcoming to all students, as the students were paired up for the experiment and they also had the chance to create a sentence with their own observations. I was clear in my teaching and used an information-base book that engaged the students and taught them about snow crystals. I supervised the class and was able to complete this lesson with ease as the students were all engaged in the activity. Thus, I was able to develop my professional competencies one through seven.
